Original Item: One Only. This is romantic, an original hand painted brass Side Drum marked up with the full Coat of Arms and marked to the "ROYAL AIR FORCE BAND". On the unpainted rear shell it bears the Air Ministry Cartouche over the maker marking:

Premier Percussion is a well-known British percussion company, founded in 1922, that exists to this day and distributes worldwide. This drum is 14 inches by 14 inches, and is full size.The bottom skin is absent and the upper skin, although present, has a tiny hole in it. The snare is also missing, though the fittings are still present. Comes complete with all roping and original paintwork in excellent condition.

In 1941, the Battle of Britain had just finished and then it was the mass German bombing of England's Cities known as the BLITZ, when England truly stood alone. A wonderful WW2 R.A.F. piece of original history.
